Over the past five to six months, red chillies kept in air-conditioned warehouses in north Karnataka, have been turning black due to prolonged storage and quality degradation. This has further compounded the difficulties for farmers, who are already grappling with declining prices and financial strain.

Farmers are advised to visit cold storage facilities regularly to monitor the quality of their red chillies.
