The government has sanctioned a one-time special package of ₹3,850 crore for diammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilisers. As a result, farmers can purchase DAP at ₹1,350 per 50-kg bag, with the additional cost being absorbed by the government.

This initiative aims to provide DAP fertiliser to farmers at a subsidised, affordable, and reasonable price, reducing their financial burden.

A total of 28 grades of phosphatic and potassic (P&K) fertilisers are available at subsidised rates through manufacturers and importers. These subsidies are regulated under the Nutrient-Based Subsidy (NBS) Scheme, operational since April 1, 2010.
