*Stockists build inventory ahead of expected Malaysian demand*
*Current price: ₹18,500 per quintal*
*Guntur, November :* The Byadagi chili variety, which enjoyed strong popularity two years ago, is once again gaining momentum in the market. Demand has been steadily rising thanks to the chili’s signature traits—low pungency and a vibrant red color—which make it particularly sought-after in Malaysia.
Anticipating fresh export orders from Malaysia in the coming days, stockists at the Guntur Agricultural Market Committee (Chili Yard) have begun purchasing and hoarding Byadagi chili in large quantities. This surge in buying activity is driving prices upward.
According to trade sources, Byadagi chili prices may surpass ₹20,000 per quintal within the next two weeks. On Monday, the variety fetched a peak price of ₹18,500 per quintal at the chili yard.
